This site is dedicated to the memory of Winnie Peek.

Winnie Corrine Briggs was born on November 24, 1914 in a small community near Paris, Texas. In 1934, she married Eugene Payton Peek whom she met when he came to her church as a singing evangelist. They eventually moved to Oklahoma and while there attended some meetings conducted by W. D. Frazee and joined the Seventh-day Adventist Church. In 1951 they moved to Little Creek School in Knoxville, Tennessee so their three children, Norman, Mary, and Leon, could have a Christian education. Winnie was the school cook for almost 40 years and was well known for her tasty meals, but was especially renowned for bread, granola and delicious sweet rolls. After the school moved she continued to cook part time at the new school until she was around 90 years old. She passed to her rest in Crossville, TN on January 24, 2010. She is survived by her husband of 75 years, Eugene Peek, daughter Mary Kurzynske, son Leon Peek, and Grand Children: Terryn Shaw, Michelle Chase, Charlene Peek, Daniel Peek, and Noel Peek as well as great grand children Tyson Shaw, Tristan Shaw, Marilee Chase, Gregory Chase, Laura Chase, Hannah Peek and Timothy Peek. She is predeceased by her eldest son Norman Peek.
